Meet Peter Dubyoski and Jeanette Sloan from PJ Tie-Dye...
Our names are Peter Dubyoski and Jeanette Sloan. We grew up and live in Bay Village and Westlake, Ohio. We have been tie-dying for about eight years now, which began with a simple tie-dye set.
We express ourselves through our work. There are a lot of elements involved with our tie-dye and each element comes from our personalities. We love crafting, and enjoy life the most while creating something with our own two hands. It is an incredible feeling that we just can't get enough of.
A lot of our inspiration comes from music, which helps engrave the message into our work. We want to relay the message of being yourself through our tie-dye. We want our customers to be able to express themselves through their purchases.
Meet Lisa Scott from Funki Lovely...
I'm a single mother of three, and work at the retail store Anthropologie. I love anything that has to do with the arts. Some of my favorite things to do are traveling, going to thrift/vintage stores and yard sales. I've been creating for eight years.
Many things inspire me to create like nature, fashion, the store Anthroplogie, people and my travels. My creative process usually starts with going to galleries or art museums. Looking through fashion and home decor magazines, and with a little music and wine, it all comes together!
Accessories are my favorite. I love my unique personal style and I was tired of going to the stores and seeing the same jewelry, so i decided to begin making jewelry as a hobby. I realized that making jewelry was a talent of mine when I started making jewelry for myself and my friends. My jewelry makes me feel so special inside when I wear it, because there is no other piece like it. It makes my day when someone who has my jewelry tells me how good they feel wearing it. I'm on a budget, so I create unique quality pieces that are affordable. I make sure to put the feelings of love and funk in every piece. By going to my website you will see my pieces, I'm also on Facebook and Instagram.
Meet Kristen Bellar from Craft Goblin...
I've always loved art and crafts, but while wedding planning a few years ago a new, stronger interest was sparked. I had some blank cards left over and started making cards for friends and family. It all sort of snowballed from there, and the Craft Goblin began.
I've always thought of what I do as a hobby more than a talent. I love doing anything that is crafty, I think people just naturally excel at what they love doing. My process usually consists of some type of brainstorming/envisioning of things before I start making it. I work much better off an idea in my head than a blank sheet of paper.
I like to think of my cards like the sour patch kids commercial: sometimes they're sour and sometimes they're sweet and they're always made with love.
Meet Gloria O'Neil-Savage From ArcAncient, Inc. Aromatherapy...
My name is Gloria O'Neil-Savage, I'm a professional recording artist, interior designer, college professor, writer, and aromatherapist. This will be my second Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show that I have participated in.
All of life inspires me to create. The mystery, images, visions, nature, prayer, and people I come into contact all of the time inspire me. My creative process is fluid like catching lightening.
In five years I see myself taking ArcAncient, Inc. Aromatherapy travelling around the country, teaching and sharing excerpts from my current book, along with the amazing benefits of the aromatherapy creations I have studied and been so grateful to learn and share.
